Dragon Ball Z Episode Guide, First 2 seasons

---Season 1---

Ep.01 "The Arrival of Raditz" - Goku takes his son Gohan to his 5-year reunion with his friends Master Roshi, Krillin, and Bulma. Raditz shows up. He is Goku's brother. Goku is informed he is a Saiyan from space. There are only 4 of the mighty planet pirates left. The powerful Raditz then kidnaps Gohan.

Ep.02 "The World's Strongets Team" - Goku and his worst enemy Piccolo team up to beat the incredibly powerful Raditz. Goku and Piccolo fight hard to beat Raditz, but the planet pirate is much stronger than either of them. In the fight, Piccolo loses an arm.

Ep.03 "Gohan's Hidden Powers" - Piccolo has lost an arm but stills tries his new attack: the Makankosappo (Dub - Special Beam Cannon). Raditz is too fast for it. Gohan becomes very powerful with anger and attacks. Raditz is hurt but still okay. Suddenly, Goku grabs and holds Raditz still while so Piccolo can sharge the Makankosappo.

Ep.04 "Goku's Unusual Journey" - Goku and Raditz are killed by the beam. The problem is, two much stronger Saiyans, Nappa and Vegeta, are on the way to Earth. Our heros have one year to prepare. In the afterlife, Goku runs down Snake Way to train with the ancient King Kai (Jap - Kaio Sama). Piccolo takes Gohan and puts him in survival training. He thinks maybe the boy will learn to control his powers.

Ep.05 "Gohan's Metamorphosis" - During his survival training, Gohan sees the full moon for the first time and becomes a Giant Ape. Luckily, Piccolo destroys the moon and tears out Gohan's tail. During this time, Chi Chi and Gyumao (Ox-King) are informed of what was happened to Goku and Gohan.

Ep.06 "Gohan Makes a Friend" - Goku is still travels to King Kai via Snake Way. Gohan befriends a dinosaur. A hunrgy dinosaur kills his new friend unfortunetly. Gohan moves on and continues his training Krillin and Yamcha (who has become a pro baseball player) go to Lord Kami (Jap - Kamiu Sama or God) to train.

Ep.07 "Trouble on Arlia" - Months pass. Gohan is getting very strong, and his father Goku is still running down Snake Way. The evil Saiyans, Nappa and Vegeta, stop at the Planet Arlia. After some fun killing the locals, Vegeta blows it up entirely. The continue their journey to Earth for the Dragonballs.

Ep.08 "Home for Infinite Losers"- Goku falls off Snake Way. With the "help" of the ogres Goz and Mez. He defeats Goz in a sumo match and beats Mez in test of speed. Goku eventually makes it back up by a secret passage. It leads to King Yemma's desk drawer. Goku has to start all over, but he moves fast after snaching some magic fruit.

Ep.09 "Princess Snake's Hospitality"- In a house along Snake Way, Goku meets Princess Snake (thinking she's King Kai at first). He keeps trying to leave because he is kind of in a hurry. After trying to stall him, the princess finally shows her true form (a giant snake), and she tries to eat Goku. He escapes and continues his run.

Ep.10 "Escape from Piccolo"- Using a boat he made, Gohan leaves Piccolo's training ground. A storm puts him in the care of some orphans. After the orphans are taken to "The Home," the leader, Pigero, takes Gohan to his home. Deciding it would be wron gto go back to his mom, Gohan decides to return with Piccolo to train instead.

Ep.11 "Showdown in the Past" - While training at Kami's palace, Krillin, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, and Chiaotzu fight Saiyans of the past in the Pendulum Room. Transportes to Planet Vegeta 100 years ago, they fight two ancient Saiyans and lose horribly. The whole thing was an illusion so they are unhurt. Its too bad the two on the way are much stronger! Yajirobe sits around the entire episode.

Ep.12 "The End of Snake Way" - Gohan goes to monkey form again because of a projection of Goku's old space pod. After a fighting a losing battle, Piccolo stops him again by destroying the pod. After months of running, Goku finally makes it to the end of Snake Way!!!

Ep.13 "A Fight Against Gravity... Catch Bubbles!" - Goku trains on King Kai's planetoid. Gravity there is ten times that of Earth. Goku's first task is to catch a monkey named Bubbles. Under 10 times gravity and his weighted clothes, amazingly Goku catches the primate!

Ep.14 "The Legend of the Saiyans" - After much strain, Goku accomplishes his next task: hit Gregory the ultra fast grasshopper with a huge mallet. Goku also learns about the history of the Saiyans. Although, King Kai is not completly accurate. He tells him meteors destroyed it. We will find out the true tale later.

Ep.15 "Black Day for the Planet Earth" - After learning the Kaio Ken and Genki Dama (Spirit Bomb) techniques, Goku is wished back and hurries back down Snake Way. The two Saiyans arrive on Earth. They first destroy a city before heading off to fight Earth's warriors.

Ep.16 "The Battle Begins... Goku Where Are You?" - The battle is set. Piccolo, Gohan, Tenshinhan, Chiaotzu, and Yamcha first have to defeat Nappa and Vegeta's six plant warriors called Saibamen. The first fight is Tenshinhas vs. a Saibaman. Goku still hurries down Snake Way.

Ep.17 "The Saibamen Strike" - Tenshinhan beats one Saibaman. Vegeta kills it as a warning to the others not to fail. Next, one explodes to kill itself and Yamcha. An angry Krillin and Piccolo waste the rest of the plant men.

Ep.18 "Nappa... The Invincible?" - Nappa joins the battle first attacking Tenshinhan. The titantic Saiyan is very powerful. Chiaotzu blows himself up in a desperate attempt to kill Nappa. The Saiyan is unhurt. Things look dim.

Ep.19 "Tien Goes All Out!!" - Tenshinhan pours all his energy in an attack (Jap - Kikoho) to kill Nappa. The triclops ends up dead (Kikoho is suicidal if used to long), and Nappa is as tough as ever. Vegeta calls a 3 hour break to wait for Kakarot to arrive. In the meantime, Nappa destroys a group of reporters and a huge army.

Ep.20 "Time's Up!!" - The break ends with no Goku, but our heros sense him coming. Vegeta's scanner reveals Goku's power level at 5000! He orders Nappa to kill Gohan, Piccolo, and Krillin quickly before the traitor Saiyan arrives.

Ep.21 "The Return of Goku" - Nappa uses a massive energy blast to waste Gohan, but Piccolo throws himself in front to save his only friend. Even the power of Gohan's anger can't win against Nappa.. Goku arrives and finds only Krillin and Gohan still alive.

Ep.22 "Goku Strikes Back" - Nappa can't compare to Goku. Vegeta tells him to retreat, but he attacks Gohan and Krillin. Goku stops him and leaves him defeated. Vegeta kills Nappa for being weak. Vegeta and Goku fly to a secluded spot to battle. Gohan and Krillin decide to head home.

Ep.23 "Goku Vs. Vegeta... A Saiyan Duel" - Goku and Vegeta go one on one. The fight escalates to a huge beam battle. Goku uses the Kamehameha (with Kaio Ken times 2) while Vegeta blasts with the Gallic Gun (Jap - Garlic Ho). Goku upgrades to Kaio Ken times 3, and Vegeta is shot into space. This makes the evil Saiyan very angry.

Ep.24 "Vegeta... Saiyan Style" - Yajirobe looks on as Vegeta has used a fake moon to turn into a Huge Monkey. Vegeta's power has increased by 10 times, and Goku is no match. He tries to use the Genki Dama on Vegeta but the energy gathering process takes much too long. Gohan and Krillin return to help.

Ep.25 "Stop Vegeta Now!!" - Yajirobe cuts off Vegeta's tail making him change back. Gohan battles the evil Saiyan. Goku gives Krillin the Genki Dama energy. Krillin throws it and misses Vegeta! Since Gohan is pure of heart, he rebounds it back directly into Vegeta. The battle is finally won.

Ep.26 "Battle's End" - Earth's heros are surprised to see Vegeta fall back to Earth. The Saiyan notices Gohans tail is back. Before he can remove it, Gohan transforms. The Ape gains control of himself and finishes Vegeta. Earth's warriors spare Vegeta's life. He leaves swearing revenge.

---Season 2---

Ep.27 "A New Goal... Namek!" - The warriors recover at the hospital. They need a space ship to go to the Planet Namek to get the other Dragon Balls. After accidentaly blowing up Nappa's pod, Bulma is taken by Mr. Popo to Kami's old Namek spaceship. Luckily, it is still in working order.

Ep.28 "Journey to Namek" - Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan, load up and blast off toward Namek. In space, they are captured by a mirror coated ship. Meanwhile, Vegeta lands on one of the bases Frieza #79 (owned by space landlord Frieza) to recover.

Ep.29 "Friends of Foes?" - In the mirror coated ship, the Dragon Ball gathering team is mistaken for Frieza's men by some refugees. by saving them from a meteor shower, the heros prove their true intentions. Bulma and the rest take off and crash on "Planet Namek." Helped by two of the people of "Namek," they begin to hunt for the Dragon Balls.

Ep.30 "Hunt for a Dragon Ball" - With the help of the two "Nameks," the team go through many disasters including an acid swamp, tornado, and a giant to get the balls. Goku is still weak in the hospital, but Vegeta has fully recovered on one of Frieza's planets. He is now stronger than ever (max about 24,000 according to Dub).

Ep.31 "Who's Who?" - Goku has not recovered enough to train. Vegeta discovers Frieza is already on Namek hunting for the magical spheres, and takes off to Namek. Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan are just about to get the final Dragon Ball, when it is revealed this is not Namek, it is an illusion created by the two aliens.

Ep.32 "Touchdown on Namek" - After trouble from some swamp monsters and the fake Nameks, the groups arrives at the real Namek. Unfortunetly, so do Vegeta and Cui. Also, it turns out Frieza already has some of the Dragon Balls!

Ep.33 "Face Off on Namek" - After their ship is broken, Gohan and Krillin beat two of Frieza's henchmen. Vegeta easily kills his old rival Cui. Dodoria, Zarbon, and Frieza notice this (Vegeta's power hits 24,000), but Frieza decides they should not worry and continue to gather Dragon Balls.

Ep.34 "The Ruthless Frieza" - Yajirobe stops by the hospital and gives Goku a bag of Senzus. Fully healed, Goku travels toward Namek in a ship modified by Bulma's father. On the ship, he can begin heavy gravity training.

Ep.35 "The Nameks Versus Frieza" - The Nameks fight Frieza's men to keep the 5th Dragon Ball. The Nameks first appear to be very weak but then trash all of Frieza's soldiers. The Elder of the Namek village manages to destroy all of Frieza's scouters in the confusion. Dodoria joins the fight and kills 2 of the 3 Namek wariiors with no effort at all.

Ep.36 "Escape from Dodoria" - The Namek elder of the village finally hands over a fifth Dragon Ball to Frieza. Dodoria proceeds to kill all the Nameks but one (a small child named Dende) because the elder wouldn't reveal the other 2 ball's locations. Gohan and Krillin rush in and grab Dende and take off. A terrible chase ensues, but Dodoria leaves thinking Gohan, Krillin, and Dende dead.

Ep.37 "Secrets Revealed" - On his way back Dodoria is mysteriously thrown down. It turns out to be Vegeta. After some insults from Dodoria, Vegeta attacks. Dodoria bargains for his life and tells Vegeta the true story of the Saiyan planet's demise. He explains Frieza destroyed the planet when he thought it might be a threat. Vegeta decides to kill Dodoria anyway.

Ep.38 "A Collision Course" - Goku is informed he is soon to crash into a star! Using the guidance of Bulma's dad (Dr. Briefs), Goku manages to go for a spacewalk and fixes his shaceship. Meanwhile on Namek, Vegeta lands at a Namek village not yet visited by Frieza. Vegeta decimates the entire village (the villagers included) and gets a Dragon Ball! Now, Frieza has 5, and Vegeta has 1.

Ep.39 "Stay Away From Frieza" - Dende tells the team that they can get help from the eldest Namek. The Namek Guru is the father of all the people on Namek today (Dende is child number 108). Anyway, Krilllin and Dende head towards the Namek's house. While training, Goku is contacted by King Kai. Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Chiaotzu, and Piccolo have all arrived at Kai's place to train. In the conversation, King Kai warns everyone that Frieza is way too dangerous for anyone to face.

Ep.40 "Zarbon Transformed" - Tenshinhan, Krillin, Chiatzu, and Piccolo train on King Kai's planetoid. Vegeta prepares to fight Frieza's best man Zarbon. Vegeta won until Zarbon showed his true form.

Ep.41 "The Eldest Namek" - Krillin and Dende travel to the home of the Guru and his protector Nail. They recieve the one-star Dragon Ball. The Namek Guru uses an ability to make Krillin much stronger.

Ep.42 "Get Vegeta!" - Frieza has Vegeta in the rejuvination tank so he can find out the location of the Saiyan's DB. Frustrated, Frieza calls for the Ginyu Force. Training continues at King Kai's.

Ep.43 "Vegeta Revived" - Vegeta heals but escapes Frieza's ship with 5 Dragon Balls. Vegeta spots Krillin carrying a ball and follows him. Zarbon sees both and chases after them.

Ep.44 "A Heavy Burden" - A storm in space causes the gravity machine in Goku's ship to go to 100G. Vegeta and Zarbon arrive and battle over Krilln's Dragon Ball. Vegeta has a secret though...

Ep.45 "Immortality Denied" - Vegeta has become even stronger than Zarbon, defeats him, and takes the DB. Vegeta only has 6 balls and realizes Gohan has stolen one. He is very enraged.

Ep.46 "Big Trouble for Bulma" - While Krillin and Gohan travel to the Guru, Bulma holds on to their ball. It falls into the ocean and Bulma followes in a sub. She has trouble from a giant crab though.

Ep.47 "Scramble for the Dragon Balls!" - Bulma escapes two of Frieza's men and recovers the ball. Vegeta spots Krillin and Gohan on their way to the old Namek Guru. He follows.

Ep.48 "Arrival of the Ginyu Force" - Goku has completed his 100G training. Krillin distracts Vegeta while Gohan recieves the Guru power up. Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan team up when the Ginyu team arrives!

Ep.49 "Elite Fighters of the Universe... The Ginyu Force" - Vegeta says that to beat the enemy he must become immortal. Before they can summon the dragon, the squad arrives and takes the DBs.

Ep.50 "Time Tricks and Body Binds" - Gohan and Krillin fight the time-stopping, cowardly Guldo. As others watch on, Guldo nearly wins until Vegeta jumps in and kills him. The next battle is set.

Ep.51 "No Refuge for Recoome" - Vegeta vs. Recoome. Captain Ginyu is off to give the balls to Frieza. The othrer 2 watch the fight. Vegeta is beaten, and Krillin and Gohan aren't strong enough.

Ep.52 "Enter Goku" - Frieza has all 7 Dragon Balls! The only problem is he doesn't know how to summon the dragon to get his wishes. Krillin and Gohan have been beaten by Recoome, but Goku arrives!

Ep.53 "Goku... Super Saiyan?" - Senzus heal Krillin, Gohan, and Vegeta who watch Goku beat Recoome with a single hit. Jeice and Burter can't touch him. Vegeta thinks he must be the Super Saiyan!
